Dala Nest is a place to find somewhere to stay across Africa, built for the way people here actually travel and actually pay.
Why we built it
Booking a room in most of Africa means one of two things: a hotel priced for visitors, or an arrangement over WhatsApp with someone you hope is real. The international booking sites are built around a card and a currency that a lot of the continent does not use.
We wanted somewhere a trader from Abidjan can book a flat in Accra in a currency they think in, and know the place is real because somebody checked it. Mobile money is where we are going; cards are what works today.
What we do differently
- Mobile money will be a first-class way to pay, not an afterthought behind cards. We launched on cards and are adding it next.
- Hosts price in their own currency; travelers read in theirs.
- Every listing is checked by a person before anyone can book it.
- Hosts are paid after their guest arrives, so a guest is never paying into nothing.
- The whole site works in English and French, because the continent does.
Who we are
Dala Nest is operated by Dala Property Management Inc., registered in the United States. We are a small team. When you write to us, a person reads it, usually the same day.
